Keeping life abuse free after ADAPT
Experience shows that having a regular opportunity to refresh learning and review progress after ADAPT can be very valuable in keeping life abuse free. Face-to-face, one-to-one relapse prevention sessions are now available to help achieve this objective with an ADAPT experienced facilitator / accredited counsellor/psychotherapist. These sessions are aimed at complementing the telephone support available from ADAPT mentors.
Sessions
Sessions will provide an opportunity to:
• Reflect on progress towards the aim of living an abuse free life
• Refresh knowledge of core tools used in ADAPT
• Work through any continuing challenging behaviours and beliefs
• Prepare an action plan to address any ongoing concerns
Frequency
It is suggested that sessions are attended at three monthly intervals for a period of two years following completion of ADAPT to gain maximum benefit. Additional sessions can be made availailable.
Location
Sessions are available near Basingstoke and in Southampton.
Cost
Each session lasts 60 minutes and the cost of a session is either Agency funded or based on affordability by the individual. 50% of the monies received are donated to the Hampton Trust as a contribution towards keeping ADAPT available for others. The last session is free for those completing the eight recommended sessions over two years.
Provider
The sessions are provided with the agreement of, but independent to, the Hampton Trust by John Bennett. John is a fully trained and experienced facilitator of the ADAPT programme and a BACP Accredited Counsellor / Psychotherapist.
